Summer Kitchen Volunteers!

WE NEED YOU!

The Shalom Center day shelter provides free meals to people experiencing poverty in Bloomington. We provide breakfast for around 60 people every morning and lunch for around 120 every afternoon. This vital and life saving service is offered every day the Shalom Center is open, Monday through Friday.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Our 7:30am to 9:30am volunteers help with setting up breakfast, prep for lunch, and cleaning up breakfast service. This position is a nice mix of guest interaction and quieter prep time.

Our 9:30am-11:30am volunteers help with prepping for lunch. This position is ideal for the person who wants to help but would like to do so when it's a bit quieter.

Our 11:45am-2pm volunteers are front and center! They help with serving meals directly to our guests, as well as clean up after lunch service. If you want more frequent chances to interact with our guests, this shift is for you.

You don't have to have any kitchen experience to join our team!
