About

The DePaul Catholic School, a Pre-K through 8th grade elementary school located in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia, has been educating students in the Vincentian tradition since 1966. All of our students qualify for the federal meals program and 98% of our students are African-American. Our academy structure (K-2, 3-5, 6-8), teaches students what it means to achieve excellence and serve Christ at each grade level so that they can become the best versions of themselves on their way to earning a college diploma. While the majority of our families receive scholarships, all pay something towards their child's education.

Mission Statement

In 2013, DePaul Catholic School partnered with Seton Education Partners and Independence Mission Schools to become the first robust blended learning Catholic school in Philadelphia. Since then, the school has increased enrollment by 50% and demonstrated growth on par with or outpacing that of many high-performing charter networks. Our staff addresses students as "Class of 2025" to remind students the year they will graduate college. DePaul keeps students on this path through a mixture of individualized instruction, small learning communities, and small-group instruction. Outside of academics, our middle school students remain at school until 5 p.m. as part of an Extended Day model. Students participate in service learning, remedial and accelerated lessons and homework help, arts and culture programs and athletics. A variety of extracurriculars are also open to students as young as age 3 throughout the year such as Reading Olympics, Chess Club, Dancing Classrooms, Story and Poetry Slams and Student Council.
